Alice Through the Looking Glass Darkly
by Lewis Carrol and adapted by Steen with original music by David Piper
20th - 28th November 2015
-
A faithful script adaptation of Alice In Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice in Wonderland.
The text is used to explore the notion of what is real and who is mad in this pared down adult focused version. Gone are the pantomime costumes, garish sets and childish dialogue; what remains is the authentic text and a serious look at what is an inceredibly funny and thought-provoking work; no additions and no silly songs that don't exist in the original world of Alice. The faithful text is littered with poems set to new music by David Piper. Alice Through the Looking Glass Darkly is mad, funny, dark and surreal all at once.
