Magnum Opus

  • When Max inherits a theatre from his dead uncle, he must make a play to afford renovations. With the help of his cousin Kylie and his Uncle Boris. He comes up with the completely original idea to make a modern adaptation of A Midsummer Nights Dream called ‘A Madclubber Nights Rave’. There is a problem, however. Max hates theatre. And Shakespeare. And Kylie thinks she deserves the theatre more. Hilarity, of course, ensues.

Written to be a biting satire of amateur organisations; be it sport, radio, and even theatre; their politics; and the personalities they attract, this play is framed with a genuine love for the theatre and through satire shows how it can be ruined by overzealous people with good intentions but without a clue.
