Pippin is a musical which uses the premise of a mysterious acting troupe, led by a Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and significance. They offer a young actor fame, glory and a spectacular finale. Pippin tries various paths to fulfillment and to live an extraordinary life but nothing satisfies him ultimately he must choose to play out the troupes Faustian Game or live an ordinary life with no music, colour or pretty masks to hide behind.
