The House of Gloucester
by William Shakespeare and adapted by Steen
2nd - 10th May 2025
-
As an extension of our highly praised 2024 adaption of William Shakespeare’s King Lear, this production looks at this gripping tale from the perspective of the House of Gloucester and those affected by Lear’s madness.
Lear is a brutal and vain King, whose vanity and refusal to see the true nature of the people surrounding him leads to his downfall. Lear's family turn on one another, fighting for power and control of his lands with Gloucester being tortured and blinded. Audiences will feel Gloucester's experiences through multi-sensory storytelling and technical elements.
